RACING SPONSORS REQUIRED - I'm looking for sponsors to help me fund the development of the nova and the new engine for next year.
So if you would like to sponsor me and have your company advertised on the website, the car and have me promote your companies services OR
you know of any companies who are willing to sponsor racers - then please get in touch.
All information supplied to me through the contact form will remain confidential and I will take every step to ensure your details are not disclosed to anyone.
Myself (David Reid) and a friend bought a 89 "G" plate Vauxhall Nova to "do up" and go racing at events in
Scotland.
We set about making the car race ready as cheap as possible, installing a bucket seat, harnesses, a roll cage
and lowered suspension. For the 2000 season, myself and Alistair double entered the car and finished the year with some trophies.
I won the "Best Newcomers Award for the Scottish Hillclimb Championship" and the "Runner-up Newcomers
Award for the Scottish Sprint Championship" - not bad for starters!
Over the next few years I set about building my
own Nova. Having sourced a Tigra 1.6 16v Ecotec engine, I then focussed on finding a good shell. After viewing many cars I found
a 92 "J" plate Vauxhall Nova 1.2i Fun, which was rust and accident free.
I finished preparing the car and
raced it in 2004, picking up several 3rd places, 2nd places, wins and even a class record.
Not bad for the car's 1st year out!
